High Risk Termination

Bruce Kingsland and Associates is committed to safeguarding you, your employees, and your facilities in high-risk termination matters.

Our goal is to minimize your exposure to violence and maintain a safe, productive workplace by helping you take the proper steps to minimize danger to yourself and other employees through workplace violence prevention planning and providing an on-site presence during and after the termination.

What is an “at-risk” employee? Some of the contributing factors to workplace violence incidents include:

• Possible Substance Abuse Problem
• Easy Access To Weapons
• Socially Isolated From Others
• History of Aggression
• Poor Self-Esteem
• Few, If Any, Outlets For Anger
• Feeling of Victimization – Blames Others For His/Her Life Disappointments
• Unstable Background

If an employee demonstrates one or more of these, they should be considered “at-risk” and should be treated accordingly.

When BKA security professionals are called upon in cases where threats of violence have been made by an employee, or there is a concern of potential violence because of “at-risk” factors, our team conducts a thorough investigation and action plans are established in the event of problems. The investigation is critical as in over 90% of workplace violence incidents, perpetrators have told co-workers and acquaintances that he or she was going to commit the act.

Once completed, an action plan is established, which may include surveillance, increased physical security, coordination with existing security departments and local law enforcement and, in most cases, actually assisting with the termination process.
